Sarah Walker grew up swimming summer league for the Friendly Frogs, but we won’t hold that against her. Her career includes ten years of competitive swimming with Greensboro Swimming Association, and four years of Division I at Campbell University, where she excelled in sprint backstroke and freestyle. Sarah majored in history as an undergraduate student at Campbell and is pursuing a Masters of Teaching in Elementary Education at UNCG. When she graduates, she hopes to teach K-2. Sarah is an assistant coach for GCY and has been for two years. She has coached for Lawndale for four years and served as the Assistant Head Coach for three. We are pretty lucky that Frog turned into a Lizard!!
Audrey Childers started swimming at Lawndale when she was five years old. Since then, she has swum for the Lizards for 13 years! Additionally, Audrey has been an assistant coach on the swim team for the past 4 years. She is currently a junior at UNCG in a double-major program of English and Spanish. The Summer 2017 swim season will be Audrey’s fifth year coaching the Lizards!
Sabrina Greer has been a member of the Lizards swim team since 2009; the past four years as an assistant coach. She has been a year round swimmer for all of her swimming career, swimming the 200IM and 200 backstroke. She is currently a student at Brandeis University, located just outside of Boston, majoring in Anthropology and Sociology, and is a member of the varsity swim team, the Brandies Judges.
Maddie Heyn has been a Lawndale Lizard since 2006; as an assistant coach since 2012. She also led and taught in the Little Lizards swim program this summer. Maddie’s swimming career includes the Greensboro Swimming Association and four years as a Page Pirate. Her favorite stroke is the backstroke. She is currently a student at the University of Notre Dame.
Ben McEntire will return to Lawndale for his third year coaching! He is a 2016 graduate of Page High School and is currently attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ben has been a Lizard since 2009 and swam for Page for two years. He has been an assistant coach for two years, is a lifeguard for Lawndale, and has been giving private swimming lessons to wanna-be Lizards for three years.
