Head Coach: Christi Collins
Christi Collins swam in the Community Swim Association (CSA) with different teams starting at the age of 10. She has coached a couple of teams including the Lawndale Lizards from 2006-2008. Christi also coached year-round with Greensboro Swimming Association (aka Swim GSA) for over 6 years and has coached with some local high schools. Christi swam for both Northeast Guilford High School and Greensboro College. She has a degree in Biology and a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. After starting to work with Guilford County Schools she went back to school and got a masters in Special Education. Christi is a Special Education teacher at Haynes-Inman Education Center. She is excited to be back coaching with the Lawndale Lizards!
Ben Guyer: Ben has been a part of the Lawndale swim team since 2013 making this his 5th year. He has been a volunteer swim coach for the swim team for the past two years. Ben is currently a junior at Page High School and swims on the varsity swim team for the high school as well. This will be his first year as an official member of the coaching group and he is excited to be a part of such an awesome team!
Ben Riggs: Ben swam with the Greensboro Elks Lodge since he was 4 years old and year-round with GSA since he was 12. This past year he swam his freshman year with the Wingate Bulldogs where he swam butterfly and sprint freestyle. He is majoring in communications at Wingate University. This will be his first year as an assistant coach.
Amanda-Joi Guthrie:Amanda-Joi Guthrie is a returning coach for the Lawndale Lizards. She is studying at UNCG to get her undergraduate degree in psychology and hopes to pursue a masters in counseling. During her swimming career she swam for GCY for 2 years and GSA for 3 years. She also swam at Lawndale for about eight years. This year will mark her fourth year of coaching for Lawndale, and she is excited to help build the community of swimmers and help improve the overall skill of the swimmers!
